VIA YOGA RETREAT
Despite being a small country, Costa Rica has the most species of plants and animals per acre than anywhere else in the world. It has more protected land than any other country in the world with approximately 25% of the country being national park or other conservation areas such as wildlife reserves and refuges.
We hold our Via Yoga Costa Rica Retreats at Ahki Retreat Center on the Nicoya Peninsula, a very special place indeed! It is no wonder more and more people are gravitating to the Nicoya Peninsula, as it has been designated as one of the world’s five Blue Zones – “hot-spots having common healthy traits and life practices that result in higher-than-normal longevity” – a mecca for the holistic and healing arts practice.
Ahki (our home-base) is a short 3 kilometers (10 minutes) drive from Garza, a quaint fishing village with a lovely beach where you’ll find more ticos (locals) than tourists. Another 15-20 minute drive north finds you in Nosara with Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada. Here you can experience wonderful restaurants, shopping, various excursions and some of the finest surfing in the country!
Getting There
Guests fly into Liberia International airport, Costa Rica where they are met by a Via Yoga representative. From the airport it’s a 2 hour drive to Ahki, our retreat destination. It is an ideal place to disconnect from a busy lifestyle, reconnect to slow and conscious living and to enjoy the beauty of the jungle and the surf!
