Class Details

We’re very excited to return to Nosara, Costa Rica an amazing oasis you won't soon forget. Days will begin with a mid morning surf lesson led by local instructors, a perfect opportunity to experience the thrill of catching your first wave. After surfing, enjoy a relaxing lunch by the pool, take a walk on the beach, or explore the charming community of Nosara. The afternoon wraps up with a two-hour Yoga-Pilates class in an open-air yoga studio surrounded by tropical gardens. Vinyasa Flow focused on alignment and breath, pairs beautifully with Pilates movements incorporating modern exercise principles and promoting balance and core strength. What better skills to have while learning to surf?! There’ll be plenty of time to practice the art of “rest” with a good book by the pool, the gentle rock of a hammock or the luxury of an afternoon nap. Evenings are spent enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded individuals or indulging in a quiet evening of self-reflection. Here, you can escape the hectic pace of everyday life. Relax. Hear yourself think. And soak up some well-deserved tropical sunshine!

About Courtney

Practicing since her college years in Japan, Courtney has studied Hatha and Ashtanga Flow methods and began teaching yoga in 2004. Drawing from the common threads of the Hatha traditions, her yoga classes emphasize proper alignment and breath. Courtney has also studied STOTT Pilates and in 2010, added Pilates to her repertoire of classes. The STOTT method incorporates modern exercise principles, including spinal rehabilitation and athletic performance enhancement. Courtney’s classes are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints, placing more emphasis on scapular stabilization. She provides preparatory exercises and modifications to cater to many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to everyday life. Courtney lives in Snoqualmie Washington with her husband and twin boys and teaches out of a physical therapy health clinic; Peak Sport and Spine, Snoqualmie.
