Surf Camp in Sayulita, Mexico with Via Yoga
see our photo gallery
Join us at Via Yoga for a yoga & surf week in beautiful Sayulita, where you’ll find some of the best beginner surf in the world. Sayulita’s warm water and consistent waves make it an ideal spot year round for surfing.
There are two surf spots in Sayulita : a right (longboard) break in front of the village and a left (faster) break in front of the campground. We usually have Via Yoga surf lessons near the right break where the waves are just about perfect for beginners.
Wetsuits are never needed, but we recommend that you pack a rash guard. While booties are optional, some spots are fairly rocky and you might find you want them. There are a few great surf shops in town so if you don’t have time to purchase a rash guard (or booties) before heading down to Mexico you can shop once you are in town.
Via Yoga prepares you for your day of riding the waves with the ideal warm-up…..a yoga class! Yoga increases your flexibility, sharpens your mental focus and builds strength while improving balance – qualities you will need to master the waves. We then provide a second, evening yoga class to stretch out the kinks after a day of hard work in the water.
Our surfing instructors are all highly qualified and will join you in the ocean every day during your lessons. Instructors offer hour-long lessons for groups of one to four each day. There’s also a private 30-minute lesson during the week. Via Yoga uses soft-top boards which are ideal for learning to surf, but you are also welcome to rent fiberglass boards from one of the local surf shops. Instructors will assess the surf conditions daily to ensure your safety during the lesson.
