Retreat Details

This Thanksgiving, challenge your body and mind with one of Via Yoga’s most physically active retreats. Surf the waves of intention and breathe new life into your body with daily yoga, fitness and surf lessons. Mornings will begin with Mike leading a 60-minute functional fitness class which will focus on strength, aerobic conditioning and agility. Afternoons will be spent enjoying the beach, learning to surf or simply relaxing with a good book. The evening yoga classes are sure to restore and revitalize you for a night on the town or a reflective evening of ocean-side bliss. If you’re looking for an active retreat, please join us! About Jill

Jill began her career in fitness in 1992 while working as a certified personal trainer and aerobics instructor. Because she enjoyed it so much, she went on to complete a Master’s degree in exercise science. In 1999 she began practicing yoga and then further discovered her life’s passion through an intense, month long Sivananda yoga teacher-training course. Jill has created a diverse yoga community in southwest Colorado with her special talent in honoring all backgrounds and abilities. She respects the different needs of people, as her means to connect everyone on the shared path of yoga. She has a knack for making people feel welcome, relaxed and able, while encouraging students to do their personal best. Jill teaches Vinyasa Flow yoga because it gives people room to move freely and tune into their own life’s passions. Her teaching philosophy is one that embraces all walks of life, in celebration of the simple joy of being. About Mike

Mike is a Seattle based personal trainer certified through the American College of Sports Medicine. With eleven years training experience, Mike has developed a highly effective coaching style making him very popular among those interested in improving their overall fitness and reaching specific training goals. His wide-range of expertise includes weight loss, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, rehab, and sports specific performance training. Having the opportunity to work with various clients and groups over the years, Mike understands that there is no set path to improving ones fitness level. He believes that most gains and growth occur when an individuals program is flexible allowing him or her to adapt to life’s obstacles. Mike recognizes that the ability to balance work, rest and play is one component of a successful program. The other is keeping it fun! Mike’s philosophy is that with levity and playfulness, learning becomes natural, progress happens faster, and short-lived fitness goals turn to life-long changes.
